Design thinking & Knowledge Management

A couple of weeks ago I participated in a “Design in Business” course run by Enterprise Architects , co-created with DesignChain and facilitated by the inimitable Helen Palmer. I had previously undertaken some reading in Design Thinking and […]

What Customer-Centric Looks Like

My last post, “Defense Against the Dark Art of Disruption”, went into some detail about notable failures in customer-experience for 2016. This week, however, I ran across a counter-example (h/t to Tim Worstall) showing that a little social media awareness and a customer-centric culture can make magic: A baby products company is launching a special […]

How to become an Enterprise Architect

New online EA courseI’m frequently asked how does someone become an Enterprise Architect? A majority of these questions come from Solution Architects, so I’ve developed a new online course that answers the questions that solution architects ask about developing a career in enterprise architecture. Talking to Business Executives about EA

Take the Initiative

I was recently asked to reflect on the strengths of some of the EA practitioners I have worked with over the years. They have been an inspiring group who collectively and individually were drawn to EA because they aspired to make a difference in their companies. Fulfilling that aspiration isn’t always an easy path.
