From Troux Blog
Seeing our customers succeed is truly rewarding – as is seeing them be recognized for their efforts. That’s why we’re pleased and honored to announce that two of our customers — Bayer HealthCare (BHC) and United Services Automobile Association (USAA) – have been named winners of the 2011 InfoWorld Enterprise Architecture Awards, held in collaboration with Forrester Research Inc.
Bayer HealthCare was recognized for its Application Portfolio Management Program, which was built with the Troux Platform and the companion Troux Optimization application and now serves more than 100,000 users worldwide. The cornerstone of the program is a global, web-based portal for applications optimization and management that serves as a “knowledge bridge” between business operations and IT.
The portal is part of an Applications Optimization program at Bayer that defines success metrics such as the cost and number of users for each application. By examining a portfolio of more than 2,900 business users, this global leader in specialty pharmaceuticals and consumer health products has identified a potential 30% cost savings by consolidating 15 business intelligence, closed-loop marketing, CRM and quality management applications.
USAA, a leading provider of financial services for members of the U.S. military and their families, was honored for its innovative EA methodology that brings together people, process, technology, and information rather than relying on standalone process design and IT roadmaps. This single viewpoint is made possible by a common repository built with the Troux Platform and companion applications.
While most companies consolidate their EA efforts within one structure, USAA believed that would result in an “ivory tower” approach that wouldn’t tackle pressing business problems. It instead distributed its transformational EA work throughout the enterprise to be more consultative, integrated and collaborative with the business. This cross-discipline, cross-organization team approach, branded as Unified Architecture, is aimed at helping the business change its processes, methods and structure to better align with new technologies and, above all, the needs of its members.
At Troux our goal is to help our customers deliver real strategic business results. These awards are a testament to the corporate-wide benefits of thoughtful, well-executed EA programs.
