A week in Tweets: 9-15 January 2011

Another week and – here in southern Australia at least – one of extreme contrasts, with very heavy rainfall followed by blistering sunshine. Not sure if the same is true of the week’s collection of Tweets and links, but find it for yourself, anyway. Usual categories, of course.

Currency, value and trust

More enterprise-architecture stuff, this time about the relationship between trust, value and money.
This starts from a Tweet by Swedish consultant Oscar Berg, which triggered off a back-and-forth flurry:

VPEC-T template for designing business change

Here’s an example / template for applying VPEC-T to a large scale business transformation ( like a post M&A situation).

Steps:
Start with any of the four inner columns – usually Events or Values and capture the various stakeholder perspectives (usually a Post-It on brown paper exercise).

Stand back and discuss the relationships between the four columns and note any points.

Lastly, look at the final wrap-around Trust dimension in the context of the discussion around the inner four columns.

A life out of control

So many things in our life are governed by the idea that we can control the outcome.  Take strategy as as an example.  For years strategists have operated under the false notion that strategies were conceived, plans created and execution of the plan happened.  This resulted in an elite view of conducting strategy and the […]
