Many enterprises and their industries are aggressively addressing the need to implement digital and global business models. Increasingly those industries and groups of industries are looking to The Open Group for guidance as to how they can effectively both develop and use standards to accelerate the journey they see ahead, in the private and public sectors.
On Monday, April 24, Steve Nunn, President and CEO of The Open Group gave a warm welcome to over 200 attendees from 24 countries at the ‘Smart Cities/Making Standards Work’ event in Berlin, Germany. The venue, Berlin Marriott, sits on the site where some of the Berlin Wall was. In several meeting rooms, attendees were in the former East and West Berlin at the same time.
The Open Group TOGAF® User Group meeting, held in San Francisco on January 30, 2017, focused on “Create vs. Reuse Architectures.” It addressed the question of whether Enterprise Architects need to be more involved in reusing existing architecture models than in creating new ones to meet their needs.
